Soil mean weight diameter (MWD)
|
Milliliter |
The mean weight diameter (MWD) is an aggregation indice. It is obtained by breaking the soil into aggregate classes by the wet sieving method. The MWD will increase as the percentage of large aggregates retained in the sieves increases. The more MWD score is high the more "water-stable" is the soil. MWD varies according to the soil management practices and is a good indicator to see if physical conditions are being improved or not. |
