Title

Bird point counts, resources estimation and habitat structure |
Description
:
|
We counted birds within circular plots with 20 m radius around each point count. Within each circle, all birds heard and seen were recorded for a period of ten minutes. Fruits and flowers were sampled on the same circular plots that birds were counted. Invertebrates were sampled used a sweep-netting to determine invertebrate biomass. The vertical vegetation heterogeneity (VVH) was estimated on eight horizontal layers to measured the foliage density within each band. Canopy closure in each circles was sampled with convex spherical densitometer. |
