Weekly time series of throughfall data from the ECSF area in the microcatchment Q2 (transects Q2.1, Q2.2 and Q2.3). Throughfall was measured weekly with 20 Hellmann-type pluviometers at each transect. The weekly replicates were volume-weighted and bulked to one sample per collecting interval and transect. Electrical conductivity and pH values were measured immediately in unfiltered aliquots in the laboratory at the ECSF.

Monthly measurement of soil temperature and soil gas fluxes (CO2, N2O) in the NUMEX plots in Bombuscaro, ECSF und Cajanuma

Monthly measurements of gas fluxes were performed using static vented chambers.
Soil temperature was taken simultaneously with gas measurements.

Quality assessment ECSF climate station hourly data: Version 2; Dataset supersedes ver. 1 which is left for reference. Please be aware, that aggregated values may be wrong, due to the data gaps. This is especcially critical for precipitation. Variables: Ta2m =Air Temperature at 2 m (T) PCP = Precipitation at 1 m (P) Huma_2m = relative humidity at 2m (rH) Irradiation = global radiation at 2 m (gRad), widspeed. Emitted radiation, wind direction and soil-temperatures are not yet published For each variable, a measure of uncertainty is given in the original dimension. This value can be considered as the potential deviation from real conditions. Where no parallel measurements exist, the uncertainty is given as the standard deviation of that difference. Corrected plots from Bombuscaro, ECSF, Cajanuma, Zamora and Laipuna region as shape files.

The table is a  list of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi with their host plants. The sequences are deposited in the NCBI GenBank.

Soil texture were sampled in the young landslide in front of the station, on the other side of the San Francisco river. Soil samples were analysed in the laboratory of the University of Bayreuth.

Abundance of vascular epiphytes (incl. hemiepiphytes) in 10 x 10 m plots across a land-use gradient.
All samples (columns) give abundance data for vascular epiphyte assemblages in plots of 10x10 meters. PT = Handtuchfläche secondary forest (RSF), Ai = secondary forest at Arco Iris (Ai1: around Ai-building, Ai2-plots on neighbouring ridge towards W), Q2 = Quebrada 2 (RSF), Q5 = Quebrada 5 (RSF), PP = Pinus plantation above ECSF, LC = Loma Chamusqiuín (1-4: secondary forest below Loja-Zamora road, 5-8: secondary forest above Loja-Zamora road). SF = tall secondary forest at RSF, DF = tall degraded forest at RSF; MF = mature (undisturbed) forest at RSF.

This dataset extends dataset ECSF Climate station best estimate Ver. 2 (id: 1415)
Basis of extension is the raw data of ECSF Thies Station. Various gaps are filled with stations nearby: ECSF Campbell Station, ECSF Pluvio, Campbell Tower Scintillometer Station, Campbell Tower ECOv station and Thies pasture station. The known drift in the Thies temperature sensor is corrected with regression methods based on the ECSF Campbell station temperature.

Caution! Humidity seems to be too high, further checks necessary.

Weekly time series of precipitation data from the ECSF area at the measuring station FN2 located at the intersection of Camino Canal and Camino Zig-Zag. Precipitation was measured with 5 Hellmann-type pluviometers. The resulting weekly replicates of precipitation were volume-weighted and bulked to one sample per collecting interval. Electrical conductivity and pH values were measured immediately in unfiltered aliquots in the laboratory at the ECSF.
