Abstract:
Due to technical problems the former weather station ECSF (established 1998) was shut down in 2010. At the same time a new weather station called "Climate Station ECSF established 2010" was installed 3m beside the former ECSF weather station on the same measuring plot.

The data are quality checked by a standardised method.<br/> <br/> Climate Parameter Quality Check for site ECSF<br/> Checking modules:<br/> <br/> 1. Does a value exist?<br/> Quality flag is set to<br/> "d = missing"<br/> <br/> 2. Checking of site specific threshold value.<br/> If the value is not inbetween the thresholds the quality flag is set to "c = out of range":<br/> Windspeed max = 25<br/> Global Radiation max = 1400<br/> Air temperature in 2m max = 30<br/> Air temperature in 2m min = 5<br/> Air humidity max = 99.9<br/> Air humidity min = 10<br/> <br/> 3. Checking the plausibility of air temperature and air humidity within the measurement intervals by comparing the previous and current values.<br/> If the temperature amplitude is higher then 10°C and humidity amplitude is higher than 30% the plausibility of this variation is checked by comparing to the variation of the other parameter.<br/> The quality flag is set to "e = variation implausible".<br/> <br/> 4. Precipitation check<br/> If precipitation is more than 25 mm then quality flag is set to "c = out of range"<br/> If precipitation is more than 15 mm and air temperature increases more than 0.2 °C inbetween a temporal interval then quality flag is set to "e = variation impossible".<br/> <br/> 5. Relative air humidity values are corrected by a standarized method and quality flag is set to "m = manually corrected".<br/> <br/> 6. Wind direction is not quality checked and flag is set to "nqc = not quality checked"<br/> <br/> All other values are set to "a = valid".
