(2003). Neutral lipids were purified by silica column fractionation (Bond Elut, Varian Inc., Palo Alto, CA, USA) with chloroform (van Aarle and Olsson, 2003). The resulting fractions were subjected to mild alkaline methanolysis and analyzed on a gas chromatograph with aflame ionization detector and a 50 m HP5 capillary column, according to Frostegård et al.
