Fortnightly time series of measured electrical conductivity and pH values in litter leachate at NUMEX San Francisco. The fortnightly time series extends between August 2007 and December 2016. Litter leachate was sampled on the 20 NUMEX plots with zero-tension lysimeters below the organic layer. On each plot 3 replicates were collected, volume-weighted and bulked to one sample per plot. Electrical conductivity and pH values were measured immediately in unfiltered aliquots in the laboratory of the ECSF.

Changes in AMF root colonization following N and P additions at 2000m.

Analyses if morphological and physiological attributes of seedlings from the two most common species in NUMEX experiment at the three elevations. Changes in this attributes are altered by nutrient availability in this case fertilization might showed specific limitation for N or P.

Soil data of NUMEX plots measured in 2013. Percentage of C and N, as well as soil pH were determined.

Fortnightly time series of throughfall fluxes from NUMEX San Francisco. Throughfall was measured the 20 plots of NUMEX San Francisco with 20 Hellmann-type collectors on each plot. The fortnightly time series extends between August 2007 and December 2016.

Samples were immediately filtered (4-7 µm) in the laboratory of the ECSF and stored at -20 °C until transport in frozen state to Germany or to Switzerland for concentration measurements.

Volumetric water content was measured every 30 minutes with FDR sensors at Plot 13 of NUMEX San Francisco in the organic layer and in 10 cm, 20 cm, 30 cm and 40 cm mineral soil depth. Data was recorded with a dataloger and aggregated to hourly values. Missing data are indicated by "NULL".

Attributes measured and morphological attribute analyzed in 2012  after harvesting the seedling transplantation experiment using Pouteria torta species.

Roots were collected at all NUMEX Plots (ECSF) in January 2009, except Ca treatments. 3 subplots were sampled per plot. Roots were stained with Trypan Blue and the percentage of root colonization determined using the line-intersect method.

This dataset lists basic information about the plots of the NUMEX  experiment. 
It contains the coordinates of the center of the plot, a standardized lable of the plot and the treatment of the plot.

AMF root colonization of roots extracted from the upper soil layer (5cm) at all NUMEX plots. Roots are stained with Trypan Blue, AMF root colonization is examined by the line-intersect method.

Measurement of arbuscular mycorrhizal (AMF) abundance in the NUMEX plots at all elevational sites. AMF root colonization, hyphal length, spore counts and NLFA 16:1w5 marker in soil were determined. Additionally, we quantified non-mycorrhizal fungal root colonization and hyphal length.

The dataset includes physical and chemical properties of the organic layer and mineral soil at NUMEX San Francisco during sampling campaigns from 2007 to 2009. Following properties were measured: bulk density, horizon thickness, sand, silt and clay content, concentrations of Al, Fe, Mn, Zn, C, N, S, P, K, Na, Mg, Ca, cation exchange capacity, exchangeable cations Ca, Na, Mg, K, Al, Fe, delta 13C and delta 15N values.
