Platform data

Soil samples were taken from 4  plots of each treatment in three soil depths (0-5, 5-10, 10-20 cm) at the repastorization experimental site (see Roos et al. 2010. At each plot 6 soil cores (6 cm in diameter) were taken and each soil depth was mixed to one sample.

Soil samples were taken from 6 randomly selected plots in three soil depths (0-5, 5-10, 10-20 cm) and litter layer (OiOe1, Oe2Oa) at a shrubland secondary succession site at Loma Chamusquin. At each plot 6-10 soil cores (6 cm in diameter) were taken and each soil depth was mixed to one sample.

Soil samples were taken from 6 randomly selected plots in three soil depths (0-5, 5-10, 10-20 cm) at a 50 year old Setaria-pasture. At each plot 6-10 soil cores (6 cm in diameter) were taken and each soil depth was mixed to one sample.

Soil samples were taken from 6 randomly selected plots in three soil depths (0-5, 5-10, 10-20 cm) at a 30 year old Setaria-pasture. At each plot 6-10 soil cores (6 cm in diameter) were taken and each soil depth was mixed to one sample.

Soil samples were taken from 6 randomly selected plots in three soil depths (0-5, 5-10, 10-20 cm) at a 8 year old Setaria-pasture. At each plot 6-10 soil cores (6 cm in diameter) were taken and each soil depth was mixed to one sample.

Soil samples were taken from 6 randomly selected plots in three soil depths (0-5, 5-10, 10-20 cm) at a 2 year old Setaria-pasture. At each plot 6-10 soil cores (6 cm in diameter) were taken and each soil depth was mixed to one sample.

Within 1 year (2009-2010) grass samples were taken from the respective fertilizer treatments (X=control; N=urea (50kg N ha-1 a-1); P=rock phosphate (10kg P ha-1 a-1); NP (combination of urea and rock phosphate 50kg N+10kg P ha-1 a-1) in 6 replicates, respectively) at 6 time points at the FERPAST. Grass yield within growth period as well as respective biomass properties were determined.

Fertilization of a Setaria pasture was evenly split into 3 application a year. After the 5th fertilization trial soil samples were taken in three soil depths (0-5, 5-10, 10-20 cm) at the respective plots of the fertilizer treatments (X, N, P, NP) to investigate the impact of pasture fertilization with urea (N)(50 kg N ha-1 a-1), rock phosphate (P) (10 kg P ha-1 a-1) and with a combination of both (NP)(50 kg N + 10 kg P ha-1 a-1) in comparison to a control (X) on soil biogeochemical properties.

The "burning plot" is divided in 10 subplots, our group investigate only the first 8 plots. Data provide information about the soil characteristics before the first burning in September 08.

Before the start of the fertilization experiment in February 2008 all 24 plots (X=control; N=urea, P=rockphosphate P; NP= combination of both fertilizer with 6 plots per treatment respectively) were sampled and soil properties were analyzed in 3 soil depths (0-5, 5-10, 10-20 cm).
