Abstract: Weekly time series of precipitation data from the ECSF area at the measuring station FN3 located on T2 near the ECSF meteorological station. Precipitation was measured with 5 Hellmann-type pluviometers. The resulting weekly replicates of precipitation were volume-weighted and bulked to one sample per collecting interval. Electrical conductivity and pH values were measured immediately in unfiltered aliquots in the laboratory at the ECSF.

Checking the plausibility of air temperature and air humidity within the measurement intervals by comparing the previous and current values. If the temperature amplitude is higher then 10°C and humidity amplitude is higher than 30% the plausibility of this variation is checked by comparing to the variation of the other parameter. The quality flag is set to "e = variation implausible". 4. Precipitation check If precipitation is more than 25 mm then quality flag is set to "c = out of range" If precipitation is more than 15 mm and air temperature increases more than 0.2 °C inbetween a temporal interval then quality flag is set to "e = variation impossible". 5. Relative air humidity values are corrected by a standarized method and quality flag is set to "m = manually corrected". 6. Wind direction is not quality checked and flag is set to "nqc = not quality checked" All other values are set to "a = valid".

The known drift in the Thies temperature sensor is corrected with regression methods based on the ECSF Campbell station temperature.
