Abstract:

This dataset contains masks of Fog and Low Stratus (FLS) for Europe. Time period covered: 2006-01-01 to 2015-12-31 The masks are based on Meteosat Second Generation data that were processed based on the algorithm described in Egli, S., Thies, B., Drönner, J., Cermak, J., & Bendix, J. (2017). A 10 year fog and low stratus climatology for Europe based on Meteosat Second Generation data. Quarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, 143(702), 530–541. http://doi.org/10.1002/qj.2941.
